At Neighborhood House, we believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and inspiring place to learn and grow. We welcome children from 2 months to 12 years old, offering a seamless path from Infant & Toddler care through Preschool, After School, and Summer Camp programs.

Infant & Toddler
Ages: 2 months - 2.5 years
Our high-quality Infant & Toddler program provides individualized care and early education to support each child’s unique needs. Under the care and guidance of our specially trained teachers, children ages 2 months to 2.5 years develop motor, language, self-help, and social skills in a nurturing, supportive environment.
Preschool
Ages: 3-5 years
Our preschool offers a well-rounded academic curriculum for children ages 3 to 5, including language arts, math, science, technology, arts and crafts, social studies, physical education, and health and safety.
Students learn in modern, state-of-the-art classrooms designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of discovery.
Summer Camp
Ages: 5-12 years
Our 8-week Summer Camp for children ages 5 to 12 blends learning with fun-filled activities, including swimming, tennis, educational field trips, and more. Each day is designed to keep children active, engaged, and excited to discover new interests.
After School
Ages: 5-12 years of age
Our After School program offers educational enrichment, academic support, sports and recreation, arts and crafts, and personal development for elementary students ages 5 to 12 attending Plainfield public schools.
The program operates from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on school days. When schools are closed, we offer a full-day schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., ensuring consistent care and engagement.
Infant & Toddler

The Neighborhood House Infant & Toddler and Preschool programs follow the High Scope curriculum, a research-based approach that promotes active learning and focuses on children’s strengths. Our excellent teachers support and guide each child to explore, interact, and exercise their creative imagination through purposeful play.
The High Scope Preschool Curriculum focuses on learning in eight content areas, helping children build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.

The Board of Education (BOE) preschool follows the Connect 4 Learning (C4L) curriculum, a research-based, tested interdisciplinary program for Pre-K students. The C4L curriculum is designed to extend the learning experience for older preschoolers and prepare them for kindergarten readiness and beyond.
To create a consistent and active learning environment, teachers arrange and equip the classroom with diverse, open-ended materials that reflect children’s homes, cultures, and languages. The room is organized into learning/interest areas and labeled to promote independence and encourage children to carry out their intentions.
