Our Centers

Building Bright Futures Since 1937

For more than 85 years, Neighborhood House has been a trusted provider of high-quality early education and care for children in the Plainfield community. Founded in 1937, we have grown from a small community program into a multi-site center serving children ages 2 months to 12 years.

Our certified, specially trained teachers create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Every program, from Infant & Toddler to Preschool, After School, and Summer Camp, is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and lay the foundation for lifelong learning. Accredited across all age levels, we combine proven teaching methods with engaging activities in math, science, literacy, and the arts.

Our Mission

To positively enhance the lives of children and families in the Plainfield community and surrounding areas through high-quality childcare, comprehensive social services, and enriching educational programs.

Our Philosophy

We believe the early years are a powerful, formative stage in a child’s life. Our secure, nurturing environment encourages growth through guided instruction, hands-on activities, and dynamic play.

We tailor learning experiences to each child’s unique needs, building self-esteem and confidence so they are prepared for lifelong learning. Our curriculum fosters cognitive, social, and self-help skills, while also encouraging creativity and independence while exploring and growing in key areas.

We also partner closely with parents, offering opportunities to participate in the classroom and collaborate with teachers. This teamwork creates a consistent, supportive environment that sets children up for success.

To care for the whole child, we integrate a comprehensive health program that includes vision, hearing, speech, height, and weight screenings.
